What is the best part of Charleston, SC to stay in? ›

If you're a first time visitor to Charleston, we highly recommend staying in the French Quarter. It's picturesque and you will be walking distance to everything you want to see, Rainbow Row, Waterfront Park, Pineapple Fountain and the tours.

Downtown Charleston is generally considered the best place to stay, but the presence of the french quarter makes it close! You really want to be in the centre of the action, but staying outside of it can be much cheaper. Staying near the historic district is really where you want to be (downtown or the french quarter).
